U.S. Labor Can Stop a War

If you are a member of one of these unions please call as many of the congress members linked below as you can, and:

a) Remind them of the amount of your union's contribution to their campaign, the amount of which is listed.  Thank them for their support for union issues.

b) Tell them as a U.S. labor union member your are against a troop escalation in Afghanistan, and gravely concerned that a widened war will prove fatal to domestic jobs programs backed by U.S. labor.  Direct them to U.S. Labor Against the War to see the growing list of US labor organizations against the war,

c) Ask them to become a co-sponsor Rep. Barbara Lee's H.R. 3699 which pledges to not fund a troop escalation in Afghanistan (list here of present co-sponsors.)  Ask them to speak out strongly against a widened war on the House or Senate floor.

d) Ask them to sponsor reparations and infrastructure programs, guided by Afghans, as described in the "Stabilizing Afghanistan Through a Cash-for-Work Initiative".
